Golden Seed Locations - Elden Ring Guide - IGN (2024)

This section of IGN's Elden Ring guide covers all Golden Seed locations. Golden Seeds are what you'll use to add charges to your Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears. Each region has at least one or two, and while most are plucked from small golden Erdtree saplings, you'll find a few others in slightly more random places.

Limgrave has several Golden Seeds in both its Western and Eastern halves, as well as the Weeping Peninsula.

Stormhill Golden Seed

This is (probably) the first seed you'll find. Its tree is growing to the right of the road, and you'll come across it after leaving Stormgate Canyon up towards Stormveil Castle.

Roderika's Golden Seed

There's two ways to obtain this one. Roderika will give it to you if you complete her quest, or if she's moved on to Roundtable Hold, you'll find it just sitting there in the shack.

Fringefolk Hero's Grave Boss Golden Seed

Defeating the Ulcerated Tree Spirit earns you this Seed. If you have two Stonesword Key, you can access the Grave from the tutorial dungeon, Stranded Graveyard. Bear in mind this is a difficult dungeon with powerful enemies, more powerful than most you'll find in Limgrave

Fort Haight Golden Seed

This one is just sitting out front of the fort in East Limgrave, so it's hard to miss. Travel southeast of the Limgrave Minor Eardtree (east of the Wayopoint Ruins) to find the fort, but watch for the many enemies guarding the fort.

Castle Morne Golden Seed (Weeping Peninsula)

This is on a platform south of the Castle Morne Site of Grace, the one in the middle of the Weeping Peninsula if you're following the road from the Bridge of Sacrifice. You're under fire from an archer, so keep an eye toward the castle and dodge as needed unless you want to take him out first.

Stormveil Castle Golden Seed

This particular Golden Seed is located in the Legacy Dungeon Stormveil Castle itself, on the main path leading from the Lifthouse to the boss door where Godrick the Grafted is waiting. You can find it just in front of a giant Troll Warrior.

Stormveil Castle Depths Golden Seed

Like the Fringefolk Hero's Grave mini dungeon, this Golden Seed can be located by defeating an Ulcerated Tree Spirit. It's located at the bottom of Stormveil Castle, far below the Liftside Chamber site of grace, and you'll either need to unlock a side path down, or use Soft Cotton to carefully drop below to find its lair.

Fewer Seeds lie in wait for you in Liurnia. If you've grabbed all the Limgrave ones so far, you'll start needing two Seeds for each new Flask charge now.

Academy Gate Town Golden Seed

Located in the center of the Liurnia giant lake region, head towards the town from the Site of Grace, and you'll see a golden Erdtree sapling on a small piece of land near the town ruins.

Liurnia Ravine Golden Seed

In the far north of the Liurnia region is a longe ravine. Travel northeast from The Ravine Site of Grace, and you'll find this seed among a group of ruins.

Caria Manor Golden Seed

This Golden Seed is located within the outdoor mini dungeon Caria Manor, and you can find it just outside the Manor Upper Level Site of Grace overlooking the grounds below.

Academy Main Gate Golden Seed

Upon using the Glinstone Key to access the Academy of Raya Lucaria, look east past the teleporting seal to run along the broken bridge towards Bellum Highway. Along the crumbling bridge you can find a Golden Seed waiting for you.

Academy of Raya Lucaria Golden Seed

You can find this Golden Seed in the second Legacy Dungeon at the Academy of Raya Lucaria in central Liurnia. Once inside, you'll need to battle your way past the mid-boss of the dungeon in the Debate Hall.

Once outside you'll find yourself in a large ruined courtyard - head up and duck left under a footbridge away from a Virgin Abductor to find the Golden Seed among a small garden tended by Noble Undead.

This deadly underground realm has Golden Seeds tucked away in one of the most dangerous spots.

Worshipper's Woods Golden Seed

On your way to the platform with the obelisks used to awaken the dead deer boss, you'll see a narrow strip of land leading toward the massive castle structure. Cross it, and the Erdtree sapling is to your left. Buffing your defense against pierce damage or your stealth is a good idea here, as the ghostly archers will likely land at least a shot or two while you cross.

4 more seeds can be found in the tainted and poisonous land of Caelid.

Castle Redmane Road Golden Seed

Located along the southwest of the massive region is a path heading towards the legacy dungeon, Castle Redmane. Dodge past the dragon earlier on the road and take the fork right to find it along the road going towards the castle, but watch for giant crows looking to ambush you.

Sellia Town Golden Seed

Near the center of Caelid, just to the east of the Swamp of Aeonia lies a town of sorcery called Sellia - and it's full of vanishing sorcerers to make life painful. Ride through the town and look towards its north end to find stairs up to a great sealed doorway, and in front of the door you'll find a Golden Seed.

Bestial Sanctum Golden Seed

In the far northeast of the Caelid region in the high level area of Dragonbarrow lies the Bestial Sanctum - which you can travel to early by way of a Sending Gate in East Limgrave, behind the Church of Marika.

Just down the road south of the sanctum is a Golden Seed to take - just be wary of the large gargoyle boss standing outside the sanctum, and many high level Vulgar Militia hiding along the landscape.

War Dead Catacombs Golden Seed

At the far north end of the Wailing Dunes where you fight Starscourge Radahn is a small but deadly dungeon full of spirits fighting each other in the War-Dead Catacombs. Proceed to the end of this dungeon to fight an Putrid Tree Spirit, and defeat it to gain a Golden Seed.

There are two Golden Seeds hiding in the underground area of the Ainsel River and Nokstella, Eternal City.

Nokstella Golden Seed

Once you've progressed the Ranni The Witch Questline to the point where you can use a teleporter in Renna's Rise to enter upper Ainsel River, follow it down to enter Nokstella the Eternal City, and either take the path through the city or along the river to where the Golden Seed waits nearby at the base of some stairs near the lift down to the Lake of Rot.

Lake of Rot Golden Seed

Further past Nokstella is yet another lift leading far down to the Lake of Rot - a giant Scarlet Rot filled area. You'll have to carefully raise platforms to make your way to a ruin on the far side, where you'll find the Grand Cloister full of worshipping Kindred of Rot.

Once you head down to the bottom level of the ruins, you can find another optional fight against an Ulcerated Tree Spirit that will appear from the base of the falls leading into the Grand Cloister from the lake above. Defeat it, and you'll earn its Golden Seed.

Yet more Golden Seeds await you in the Altus Plateau region, including the Capital City and Mt. Gelmir.

Erdtree Grazing Hill Golden Seed

If you enter the Altus Plateau by way of the Ruin-Strewn Precipice dungeon, you'll have to traverse a narrow valley guarded by a large dragon who will flee after taking a bit of damage. Just past the narrow pass you'll enter the plateau proper to see Leyndell in the distance, and you can find a Golden Seed near a Site of Grace at this overlook.

Altus Highway Junction Golden Seed

Just north of the main entrance to Leyndell the Capital City on the south part of the Altus Plateau, there's a junction on the road with a path heading north towards the Map Stele, and you can also find a Golden Seed nearby.

Northern Capital City Entrance Golden Seed

The other main entrance to the Capital Outskirts of Lenydell also has a Golden Seed for you to collect along the main road past the Windmill Pastures, but it will likely be under heavy fire from the four catapults further up the road guarding the entrance - so take them out first.

Altus Plateau Minor Erdtree Golden Seed

The central area of the Altus Plateau has its own Minor Erdtree in a fog-filled wooded are full of Wormfaces. Scour the north side of this area just to the east of the broken greatbridge to find the Golden Seed among the mists.

Mt Gelmir Volcano Manor Outskirts Golden Seed

As you take the treacherous path through Mt Gelmir towards the distant Volcano Manor, you'll have to climb up a large peak using a ladder or Spiritspring jump to reach where a Full Grown Fallingstar Beast is, and find a large protruding rock ramp to the north leading down to the Volcano Manor.

As soon you you jump from the peak to this northern region and begin to the follow the road to the manor, you'll find a Golden Seed here as well.

Mt Gelmir Canyon Bottom Golden Seed

Just to the south of the burnt Minor Erdtree is a large chasm you can explore by heading north from the Wyndham Ruins. Avoid the fire geysers in this canyon floor, and you'll find the Golden Seed in view of the Minor Erdtree from below.

South Capital Outskirts Golden Seeds (2)

Upon entering the Capital Outskirts of Lenydell past the two Tree Sentinels that guard the gate, you'll come across one of two sites that house the tiny golden sapling that has not one, but two(!) Golden Seeds to collect.

Central Capital Outskirts Golden Seeds (2)

In the central part of the Capital Outskirts, looking directly at the main gate to the Lenydell, Capital City that is sealed tight, you can find another small golden sapling that again has two different Golden Seeds for you to obtain here.

Capital Outskirts Tree Spirit Golden Seed

Just to the south of the erdtree sapling at the Phantom Tree Site of Grace, you can find a path leading south to a small soldier camp that will be promptly overrun by an Ulcerated Tree Spirit that comes out of nowhere.

Defeat this miniboss, and you'll gain its Golden Seed.

Leyndell Tree Spirit Golden Seed

Once inside Leyndell, Royal Capital, make your way to the main capital street road and head north into the lower ruined portion of the city.

There's a large open expanse to the right of the large dragon corpse where an Ulcerated Tree Spirit will ambush you, and defeating it drops a Golden Seed.

Leyndell Capital Golden Seed

As you move through Leyndell, Royal Capital, head to the west side where a large rampart rings the abandoned manor. Here you'll find a large Gargoyle miniboss guarding a Golden Seed in a large platform along the western ramparts.

A few more Golden Seeds await you in the Mountaintops of the Giants region - including the Consecrated Snowfield, far to the east of the Altus Plateau beyond Leyndell, Capital City.

Lift of Rold Golden Seed

On the path through the Forbidden region on the way to the Mountaintops of the Giants after clearing Leyndell, Royal Capital, search the narrow valley leading to the Lift of Rold to find a Golden Seed in the fog, not far from where a Black Blade Kindred boss will ambush you.

Giants Catacombs Golden Seed

Before crossing the narrow bridge past the Zamor Ruins where the Fire Monks have gathered, look for a small slope to the south that leads to a mini dungeon called the Giants' Mountaintop Catacombs. At the end of this dungeon, you'll find an Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss. Defeating it will earn you a Golden Seed.

West Mountaintops Golden Seed

After crossing the narrow platform above the Zamor Ruins to the Mountaintops proper, you'll arrive at a frozen river patrolled by large Golems. Move to the east along the river until you reach another area on the south side of the river that ends in a small plateau, and you'll find the Golden Seed.

East Mountaintops Golden Seed

As you reach the far Southeastern part of the Mountaintops of the Giants across the large chain, you'll pass by the large corpses of giants on your way to the top. As you move up the slopes south, head to the east side where Trolls are tossing large exploding pots, and you'll find a Golden Seed nestled at the foot of a giant corpse.

Consecrated Snowfield Golden Seed

This one can only be reached after unlocking the secret entrance to the nothern snowy region by way of the Secret Medallion. After passing through the dungeon to the Consecrated Snowfield, ride north through the low visibility blizzard and look for a large tree trunk where you'll find the lights glowing from the golden seed at its base.

Consecrated Frozen River Golden Seed

Further north in the Consecrated Snowfield is a large frozen river running from the east up to the northwest. By following the river as it curves north, you'll eventually find a Golden Seed perched on a small ridge above the river, leading to the glowing village off to the northeast leading to Miquella's Haligtree.

The final two Golden Seeds can be found in the twisting nether region known as Crumbling Farum Azula, a Legacy Dungeon that can only be accessed by defeating the Fire Giant in the Mountaintops in the far east.

Dragon Temple Golden Seed

When moving through the Dragon Temple, you can find an Imp Seal barrier along one of the passageway that unlocks a lift to the roof of the temple. Up here are many skeletal Beastmen that patrol the rooftop ruins, and in the middle you can find a Golden Seed guarded by several of them.

Farum Dragon's Golden Seed

Later in Farum Azula as you near the large greatbridge, you'll be attacked by a stationary dragon shooting down lighting bolts. After defeating this large dragon, look to the left for a slope up to some ruins where Stormhawk birds have gathered, and you'll find the Golden Seed among them.

Two final Golden Seeds can appear in Moghwyn Palace - accessed via a teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield. However, picking up one of these seeds and reloading the area will cause the other to disappear. If you want to claim both, get them in the same run without reloading!

Moghwyn Palace Blood Lake Golden Seed

One of the Golden Seeds can be found in the large lake of blood below the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, on the path towards the Mausoleum. The seed is guarded by two Giant Crows, so approach it with caution!

Moghwyn Palace Mausoleum Golden Seed

The second Golden Seed can be found near the Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint Site of Grace. You'll find it not far away, behind an altar where a Sanguine Noble appears. Head around the ruined columns to the ledge, and look down below to find a rocky outcropping where a corpse holds the Golden Seed.

Miquella's Haligtree Golden Seed

The last Golden Seed can be found deep within Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, just before the Drainage Channel Site of Grace. Past the first giant rot pond, you can cross some roots to a smaller pond of rot that holds a Great Ghost Glovewort. Getting near it will summon an Ulcerated Tree Spirit, and you can defeat it to earn a Golden Seed.
