With the end of the TSSAA state softball tournament last week, here is a look at the final Nashville area high school softballLarge and Small Class rankings.

The Large Class consists of teams in Class 3A-4A and Division II-AA while the Small Class includes team in 1A-2A and DII-A.

Large Class

1. Stewarts Creek (31-13) Stewarts Creek made an improbable run to the TSSAA Class 4A state championship game, rallying in the sixth inning but falling short against Dobyns-Bennet to finish the season as the state runner-up. Last ranking: Unranked.

2. Henry County (27-6-1) ‒After a loss to Knoxville Halls to open the 4A state tournament, the Lady Patriots eliminated defending champion Green Hill in the consolation bracket. Pitcher Celia Lamkin held one of the state's best offensive teams to no runs.Last ranking:No. 2.

3. Nolensville (32-9-2) ‒The Lady Knights beat Arlington, 2-0, to open the state tournament but lost to Walker Valley and then eventual state champion Dobyns-Bennett. Madison Creasman pitched a complete game against Arlington with 10 strikeouts.Last ranking:No. 3.

4. Green Hill (41-8-1)‒ It was a disappointing state tournament for the defending 4A champs and the No. 1-ranked Large Class team all season. The Lady Hawks failed to capture a win, losing to Stewarts Creek, 8-7, and falling to Henry County in the consolation bracket.Last ranking:No. 1.

5. Creek Wood (28-10)Creek Wood had the best finish of any Nashville area Class 3A team, advancing to the state tournament and picking up a win against Soddy Daisy. Creek Wood also lost to Soddy and was eliminated by eventual 3A champ, Gibbs. Kendal Bryant was 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI in the win over Soddy Daisy.Last ranking:No. 10.

6. CPA (17-9) ‒The Lady Lions advanced to the Division II-AA state tournament but couldn't earn a win to advance, losing to St. Benedict and Chattanooga Christian.Last ranking:No. 6.

7. Mt. Juliet (22-15) ‒The Lady Bears fell one game short of reaching state, losing to Nolensville in the 4A sectional over a week ago. Mt. Juliet lost a lead to Green Hill in the Region 6-4A championship.Last ranking:No. 9.

8. Siegel (26-7-2)After capturing the District 8-4A championship over Oakland, Siegel was stunned by Stewarts Creek in the Region 4-4A tournament semifinal to end its season.Last ranking:No. 4.

9. Smyrna (27-9)Smyrna advanced to the Region 4 championship, losing to Stewarts Creek, and lost to Walker Valley in the sectional.Last week's ranking:No. 7.

10. Lincoln County (28-14) ‒Lincoln County dropped Summit in the Region 5-4A tournament semifinal, but its run was stopped short with losses to Nolensville in the region title game and Green Hill in the sectional.Last ranking:Unranked.

Small Class

1. Gordonsville (33-5) ‒Gordonsville captured its second straight Class 1A state championship after run-ruling Jo Byrns, 11-1, in the championship game. Callie Dillard and Kailey Plumlee each homered in the title game while Plumlee struck out 12 in six innings.Last ranking:No. 1.

2. Liberty Creek (30-8-1) ‒Kaylor West pitched a perfect game against Huntingdon in the 2A state championship game. West struck out six but her defense aided in the historic performance as Liberty Creek captured the program's first title.Last ranking:No. 4.

3. Huntingdon (24-5-1)‒ Despite the state championship loss, Huntingdon allowed only two runs the entire tournament. It shut out Westmoreland and Megis County, allowed a run in a win over Riverside and only one to Liberty Creek.Last ranking:No. 8.

4. Jo Byrns (29-15) ‒ Jo Byrns tangled with Hollow Rock-Bruceton three times during the 1A tournament and beat the Lady Tigers twice. Jo Byrns' best game was a 7-2 win over Oliver Springs in which Amelia Putnam was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Last ranking:Unranked.

5. Cheatham County (22-9) ‒ The Lady Cubs' 4-3 sectional win against Community gave Cheatham its first Class 2A state tournament appearance in school history. Cheatham County lost to Alcoa and last year's 2A champ Westview last week. Last ranking:Unranked.

6. Eagleville (22-8) ‒Eagleville's 1A sectional loss to Hollow Rock Bruceton ended a five-game win streak that had the Lady Eagles poised to make another state tournament run. But Bruceton captured a 3-1 win to advance.Last ranking:No. 3.

7. Community (26-12)‒ Community was rolling with eight straight wins before Cheatham County halted that streak, ending the Lady Vikings' season in the 2A sectional.Last ranking:No. 5.

8. Summertown (25-11) ‒The Lady Eagles' offense went cold in the last two games of the season. Summertown dropped a 2-0 game to Community in a the Region 5-2A championship then traveled to Huntingdon and lost 2-0.Last ranking:No. 4.

9. Forrest (27-10) ‒Forrest's impressive regular season was spoiled with a region semifinal loss to Summertown. The four-time state champs are looking for their first title since 2021.Last ranking:No. 6.

10. DCA (22-8-1)‒ DCA struggled in its Division II-A state quarterfinal game against Lakeway Christian, losing 2-0.Last ranking:No. 7.
