Is 101 Dalmatian Street canon? ›

According to the creators, only the events of the first animated 101 Dalmatians film happened in the show's timeline, meaning 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure is non-canon in the "101 Dalmatian Street" continuity.

101 Dalmatian Street is based on a pitch by Anttu Harlin and Joonas Utti of Finland's Gigglebug Entertainment to Disney's original animation team in London. The team developed the plot with Passion Animation Studios, which produces the series.

In the novel and animated films, the Dalmatian's house is located near Regents Park, which is where Pongo gets Roger and Anita to meet in the animated films. However, in the live-action films, the park that Pongo gets the two to meet is St. James Park, after a chase through Trafalgar Square and Oxford Street.

Lucky is one of Pongo and Perdita's fifteen puppies. He is the puppy who nearly dies soon after his birth in both the animated and live-action films but was revived through the efforts of Roger Radcliffe.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Marc Platt Productions, and Gunn Films, it is based on Dodie Smith's 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians, serving as a reboot and an alternate origin story for its antagonist, Cruella de Vil. It is also the third live-action adaptation in the 101 Dalmatians franchise.

But what makes her want to turn them into fur coats? In the end-credits scene, Cruella's gifting of Pongo and Perdita seems like heartfelt thank-you to two friends who helped her achieve her goals. It suggests Cruella's feelings about Dalmatians have changed, as she gives two innocent puppies to loving homes.

Summer is a Blue Merle Border Collie from Cornwall who prominently appears in the 101 Dalmatian Street special, "A Summer to Remember." In the episode, she meets the Dalmatian family after they arrive to Cornwall for vacation.

The Dalmatian Puppies comprise the vast majority of the titular characters of One Hundred and One Dalmatians and related media. Fifteen of them are Pongo and Perdita's puppies, who are kidnapped by the evil Cruella De Vil, and their parents journey off to go rescue them, eventually adopting the other 84.

Dolly has a crush on Hansel, first seen in "Poetry Scam." This crush leads her to go out of her way to be around Hansel at any given opportunity.

It is unknown if she and Pongo are still alive or not, but given that she lived over 60 years before the start of the series, and considering that the average dalmatian lives up to 14-16 years (a dog's life expectancy is around 15-20 years), it is most likely that she is deceased.

Why is it called 101 Dalmatian? ›

Because that's what the original novel by Dodie Smith was called. The Dalmatians consist of 97 puppies that Cruella de Vil kidnapped to make her Dalmatian coat, Pongo and Missus, the parents of a litter of 15 puppies and Perdita an old liver spotted Dalmatian hired as a wet nurse for Pongo and Missus puppies.

101 Dalmatians: The Series

Pongo appears once again in the film's television series, but has a very minor role. Pongo has moved to a farm plantation with his family and takes the role to be a good father and best friend of pet Roger.

Being one of 101 takes its toll on Patch, who doesn't feel unique. When he's accidentally left behind on moving day, he meets his idol, Thunderbolt, who enlists him on a publicity campaign.

Filmed on seven sound stages at Shepperton Studios in England, as well as at selected locations in and around London. A major task was the finding and training of over 200 Dalmatian puppies whose welfare was of top concern to the filmmakers.

The film itself is an origin story for the character Cruella De Vil, hence making it a prequel to the 101 Dalmatians story. However, as the film has continuity errors, it's not to be considered canon to 101 Dalmatians.

102 Dalmatians (2000)

It is the sequel to the 1996 film 101 Dalmatians and stars Glenn Close reprising her role as Cruella de Vil as she attempts to steal puppies for her "grandest" fur coat yet. Among the puppies she plans to use are the children of Dipstick, a son of Pongo and Perdita.

101 Dalmatian Street is a modern family comedy set in 21st century London, which follows the adventures of eldest Dalmatian step-siblings Dylan and Dolly, their parents Delilah and Doug, and their big barking blended family of 97 younger brothers and sisters, whose names also all begin with 'D'.

But the film Cruella, a prequel to One Hundred and One Dalmatians, presents an entirely different portrait of her. In this more recent film, Cruella is a working-class orphan who wants to seek (non-lethal) revenge for the murder of her mother. Like Pongo, she is much smarter than her opponents.
